On Friday 30th November it was orca mufti day. Orca mufti day is a really special day for Mrs Nortan because she loves orcas. Mrs Nortan had to stay up all night decorating the hall and organizing all of the games and food. Orca mufti day is a little bit like fun time lunch time because their is a lot of games and food. There is still some different things about both of them like on orca muffti day you have to drees up in an orca costume or just ware black and white. But on fun time lunch time you just ware muffti. Now I will tell you what kind of games and food there are at orca muffti day. Well the games that they had is how far can you throw the chicken and a few other games but I forgot them. Now for the food they are going to have is cookies,cupcakes,muffins and the new stingray liver bites. Now I am going to tell you about the costume winner thing. Well you know how I said that you can dress up in a cool orca costume or just black and white clothes. Well the people that dressed up in cool orca costumes get chosen to get pictures taken. So after assembly every signal class in the middle school went on the stage so that Miss Piri good choose some people from every class that can get there picture taken. I think Miss piri's desition was right because the people that she chose did have a really cool costume on. I should really tell you who those people with the cool costume from our class are well they were Malin,Archisha and Joe. I really like orca muffti day is really cool because it saves orca.

On Friday the 30th of November my school had a Orca mufti day for the Orca's in the world. We are raising money for the Orca society and also for the Orca helpers that help the Orca's .We had to dress up like and we show our costumes to the judges and you could win for the best costume of 2012.

Orca Mufti Day

Today it was an Orca Mufti Day. It happens once a year and you have to dress up in black and white. The day has lots of activities and raffles. They also have really yummy food such as cupcakes, cookies, sea-spray candy and the Orca's favourite food....... Stingray liver.
The organiser is a teacher who won the most inspiring teacher in New Zealand...... Ms Norton! She always organises the Orca competitions, food, games and raffles. Point View school is very lucky because we are currently the only school fundraising for Orcas! We also get to meet Dr. Ingrid Visser who is the person who saves almost all the Orcas Worldwide! What a privilege!

We hope you can help save the Orcas too! 

Orca mufti day

Did you know that Point View School  is the only school in New Zealand that celebrates Orca Mufti Day? We have this fun and exciting day thanks to Miss Norton in Room 6.

Miss Norton loves orca so when an orca is stranded or in trouble she organises a fundraiser so that the orca can be set free into the wild. Point View School has Orca mufti every second year to celebrate the orca and to appreciate Miss Norton and all the hard work that she has done with our school. 

On Orca day we dress up in black and white and we also sell cookies in the shape of an orca with black, white and blue for the sea. We also have Orca decorated cupcakes with lots of icing. This time we have sea spray candy and stingray liver which sounds gross. I mean the liver. We also have face painting, raffles, custom made photos of Ingrid the orca saver, and much more.

All of Point View is really proud of Miss Norton and lots of other people in New Zealand are proud of Miss Norton too because she was one of  30 New Zealand teachers in the 2012 teachers choice awards. We are extremely proud of Miss Norton for the many things that she has done.

Blue

Blue is for the beautiful ocean with little animals swimming.

Blue is for boys and girls that are cool.

Blue is for sad and happy for mood thing that glow.

Blue is for water that shimmers in the sun.

Blue is for the sky with white fluffy clouds

My birthday party

My Birthday party

Hi im Malin.  Today I will say about my birthday party. Its nearly my birthday also my friend too!! My birthday is on 7th of December. But my birthday is on 8th of December. I,m inviting Kaitlyn,Simran,Amanda,chiely thats my Japanese friend and one more person thats japanese. 

We are going to the skate land which you roller blade. Im good at roller blading!!

So when I went to my birthday party I will say about it so bye!!!   

Ice-skating

On Thursday the  15th of November point view school had a girls only night at paradise ice-skating.

All the girls had to dress up really warm because when you went into the ice-skating rink it was like you are on bare snow.

 When I  got there I had to get my skates on because it would be very cold and difficult to do it with bare feet! After I put my skates on I went on the ice, it was very tricky to try and skate when I haven't skated in a whole month.

 A few minutes past  and I finally  got the hang of it, but now that I got the hang of things I had to find my friends but it's hard to find all of them because they are all so fast. When I found one of my friends I got faster and faster until I was so fast I could catch up to all of my friends.

An hour later I started to get cold so I went to the cafe and bought a cup of hot milk.

When the ice-skating finished I got a Hot Dog for dinner then I went home. 

The Fragile Ninjabot 3000

Take this one of a time opportunity. To take this fragile and plastic ninjabot 3000 you must buy!

The ninjbot is only available for children over 10 years old. There are loose parts that will make your children choke. They'll have the head pulled of, mask pulled of and  the club pulled of in no time!

When you press the button it hits you, but it will not hurt as I said before the weapons will fall off. The sword could be bended by the touch of a finger.

Fire Safety...

Today we had a fire officer named Matt come to talk to us about fire safety. Here's what we learnt...

• You need a smoke detector in every bedroom and hall.
• Fire is good, don't make it bad!
• If you like playing with matches and you think it's cool, it really isn't.
• Matches are not a toy. They are a tool for adults.
• Buy a smoke detector with batteries that last ten years.
• Discuss a safe meeting place with your family.
• If the smoke detector beeps or chirps, then the battery is low. You can also test this by pressing the test button.
• A big fire is not necessarily more dangerous than a small one.
• Keep away from sparks that might catch your clothes and cause a fire.
• Your family should all know where to go when there is a fire.
• Good fire is for cooking and birthday cakes. Bad fires are when they get out of control.
• Turn things like the television off at night.

We're looking forward to learning more about fire safety next year.

Eclipses

Today ,Wednesday the 14th of November both New Zealand and Australia had an Eclipse. An Eclipse is when either the sun blocks out the moon or the moon blocks out the sun that is called a solar Eclipse (sun)and lunar eclipses(moon).


When solar Eclipses happen it goes dark or though the clouds help.




Know matter what do not look at the sun. If you have to look at the sun then put the blinds down and look through them.

My birthday!

On 7th November is my birthday!!!!!

I got two birthday presents. One present is a toy gun and another present is Air Battle. I like playing my toy gun. It is a fun!But air battle is made of little pecies.  Idon't like my Air Battle .I like my toy gun very much.I like playing with 

my friend.I like my birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Technology

On yesterday Room 30 did technology I like doing Technology because it's fun.you can play LEGO. But this time,we did that on the computers.we made lots of things.It's cool!I made 3 men and built same door...My partner made and a najin man and a robot.And we can do skechup on computer too.I built a house.We con Download some thing on skechup.It's very very cool,and better than LEGO.This is my best experience with technology.

Black and White Day

Today, the 1st of November, is black and white day. Black and White day is when everyone wears black and white. This year we are supporting a Orca called Morgan. Today we dressed up in black and white to show our support for Morgan. We are supporting Morgan because she lost her Mother when she was stranded on a beach.
