Cross country

Cross country is when we race at Botany Downs. There are lots of years that are racing to see who's first,second and third. The years that are racing at Botany downs are the year threes,fours,fives and sixes. There is a track at Botany Downs we have to run on. The starting line is on the field. It is a bit crowded but when the whistle goes it is not crowded because we quickly split up. The track is really long so we only do one lap. There are these people holding these signs to show us where to run. It is really muddy so we have to bring a spare pair of socks to change in.We have to run in our P.E uniform    

so we don't get sweaty.If you come first,second or third you get ribbons. For first place you get a blue ribbon for second place you get a red ribbon and for third place you get a green ribbon.

We like cross country because it builds up our strength.

Hi my name is Olivia and to day I am going to tell you how take photos  from a different angel. 

The first angel is giants view it called giants view because you are looking down like a giant would see it so what you do is put in down but you have to be abel to see the screen then when you take the photo it will look like a giant took it.

The next angel is like a snail would see it so you have to stay low or go along some thing we had a lot of fun doing that one.

The next angel was eye view witch most people use you do it by just seeing it from your view not giants view or snails view I thought it wasn't the best one we did but it was still fun.

the last angel we did was possums view so you had to lean the camera against some thing and make the camera look up me and Samantha had troubble finding things to take a picture of.

Well thats all I have to say today I hope you learn so thing about photorghy and if you do some of the angels i hope you have as much fun as i did.

It's Digger Time!

Part 2 of the things I did in Romania

So part two I've got lots to tell you so don't worry. So after we cutter the pig we went to Bucharest to go to a huge and interesting.so we went to the place where there was ice-skating a really big playground bowling.so I didn't do bowling because it was closed and I had to go to the very big playground because the ice-skating place was being cleaned.so the first thing I did there was look at all the things it had.should I try the big Slide or the trampoline I thought for a little bit and I went on the big slide I went slipping down but I didn't see the big ball pit below me.the slide came to a stop and I went falling down all I saw was balls flying around some hitting my face but they were soft after I spent 5 minutes or so finding a way to get to the trampoline.so after I had a good time there the ice-skating place was clean and I went to the place where you get the ice-skates So I had to get use to it and I did after a while I went fast and I did a small trip so i put my hands on the ground and i didn't fall.so i went even fast and i did a Medium trip the time and there was a puddle in front of me i fell on my back and I went slidding across soaking wet so got up went to the table everyone was at and I said that I fell down in a big puddle so my grandmother went to get some new clothes from a shop and I put them on after that we went to a shop where there were all the sport things I went to get some more shoes and clothes and that's all so we went to buy it and we went home.

the things i did in romania

hello its me again and im going to tell you what i've done so far.So today  is the 22 of august do you know its my birthday so if you could you can write the birthday song on the blog that would make me happy.

So first of when i got in romania my grandparent's showed me around my house and there are a lot of things in there which are pretty cool and the best part is i have a ping pong table outside and i alway's beat my grandfather on it.

so the second day was really awesome because we cutted a pig and i got to see all the parts of a pig.so first it was alive and(the next part is pretty violent)it had ropes tide around its legs.next my grandfather got a big knife and he stuck it right up the pigs neck.after we had to cook it and that took a while.now we started cuting it so first we cut its legs off and then we started cutting its tummy.

so the first thing i saw was all this tipe of meaty sqaushy part that was so big.

after i saw the liver a tipe of hard and sqaushy thing.

then the lungs so digscusting and weird

then 2 to last thing was the heart a bit hard and very bloody

then we cut is head of and the first thing i said was "i want to see the brain",

so im going to end it right here i'll tell you some more things i did tomorrow

For  Mini olympics room30 had made Canada t shirts.First we had to get a white t shirt from our houses.Then we had to cut out letters and canada leafs from the paper.Then we had to put the leafs on our t shirts and trace them with your  sketching pencil then we traced it with our vivid.Then we pined the letters on our t shirts and traced around them,then we painted our canada leaf that we traced. We had to paint our leafs red for canada.Then we put the letters of our surnames at the back of our  t shirts.
We again put the letters on the back except it was 30 then we painted 30 and we'r ready.

I'm in romania

hello everyone it's been a while since i've talked to you well here i am i got here about 7 days ago and im in my grandmothers office because this is the only place where theres internet.my grandparent's are spoiling me and what i mean by spoiling i mean they made me a very big house they bought me two video games a ping-pong table and thats all.also its going to be my birthday 2 days if you could write the birthday song on the blog for me that would be cool.so after my birthday i will tell you all the presents i got, what we did and all those things.did we win any gold in mini olympics.i hope we did.

Harold

On Wednesday the 25th of july 2012 Harold the giraffe came to point view school the life Edgeaction carried Harold to our school.We got the tickets from the lady she intradused herself. the next thing we did was go to the trailer about the body.Harold came out and said a joke that was funny!!!

My trip to ROTORUA !!!

On the 18th august I went to ROTORUA! FIRST i went to the Glowworm cave.We went inside the cave some water dropped on my hair.the cave was also very big there was a boat that goes around the cave.It was our turn to get on it.the cave was dark but at the end we came out.Next we went to a restaurant and ate a lot of food.After that we went to the Huka waterfall.the next thing was the hotel.We decided to go to the Polynesian Spa.And sleep at the hotel.The next day we ate breakfast at the Lake land Queen Cruise.After that we went to Rainbow springs and had fun. And the last thing was we went back home.

On 16th of August 2012 Room30 was running at our senior courts we had to run 2 and a quarter laps it was really muddy on the footpath and the grass so we to squash ourselfs into the people. then we had to do a  quarter more laps till we finished when we got back it was raining and some children just didn't listen to the instructions so they just played in the senior playground and then they got told of because they did that without permission so after that we had to go back to our teacher then to the class.

MINI OLYMPICS

MINI OLYMPICS

Hi today we are going to tell you about our middle school mini Olympics that we had on tuesday 14 August. We made some team T-shirts and on them, they had a maple leaf and the number 30 We also had our last names on it.It took us 2 weeks to make but it was worth it.

 We came to school very excited and ready for the competition.We rushed into the classroom that morning,everyone asked the teacher if we could wear our shirts.Later that afternoon we were playing and we saw some people in the class room and we went to get our T-shirts on.The teacher said we could put some tattoos on our arms,eventually all of our class came in to get ready. 

At the mini olympics we were chanting out C A N A D A

  and we went in after a few classes.So we went in and all classes got to pick a song so when they came in there song would play  our one was When we stand together.

The first activity was the shape - box ,the shape box is when you put some shapes into a box that has shape fittings

On Tuesday 14 August we had mini Olympic. We had to practise a  lot to get into the competition.We designed our team outfits.We had a maple leaf on our t-shirt.We had to put something in our t-shirt so when we do the vivid so it wouldn't go on the back off the t-shirt.

swimming at Lloyd Elsmore

Every Friday Room 30 goes to swimming at Lloyd Elsmore pool and have a great time. We are ranged at various levels. Level one features kicking,streamline and getting a go at a bit of backstroke. In level two you try to master breathing and stamina while doing freestyle and backstroke. Level three consists full laps of butterfly, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and finally streamline. Once they've mastered that they can go on to two three, and four laps without stopping.

On Tuesday the 15th of August, In the middle school we had the mini olympics.

We made shirts by ourselves to wear in the mini

Olympics. We made headbands and flags by ourselves too and we had tattoos and face painting.

In our T-Shirts we used vivid to write C A N A D A and had a maple leaf on the front. On the back we had our last name and 30 .

In the mini Olympics we did chopsticks, bum shuffling , bat and ball ,hoola hoop, skipping and shape box. Everybody practised really hard in the mini Olympics.

In chopstick we need to pick the beans onto the other plate as fast as you can with chopsticks. 

In bum shuffling we need to use your bum to shuffle without your hands . 

In the hoola hoop we need to spin our hoola hoops as long as we can and if you do it for too long you will get 2 hoops and you will need to walk and if you drop it you will need to stop and sit down.

Middle School Mini Olympics

On Tuesday 14 August at 1:50pm the whole middle school had the Mini Olympics with their chosen country. Room 30’s country was the amazing...Canada!! We were the Canadian Class. OK lets get more into the Mini Olympics.The first activity was the fast shape box,Olivia,Natasha,Kyle and Samuel were doing the shape box for Room 30.The super Olivia got us our first medal when she won a bronze. Our second activity was the awesome two people skippers.Hayley and Samantha were our fist group with Archisha and Simran for the girls while Ethan and Taine and Kyle and Jeffery was for the boys.Kyle and Jeffery came third. Chopstics was our third activity with Brian,Felix,Amanda and Kaitlyn,sadly no one won a medal in room 30. Then it was time for the skilled hula hoops. Sharan,Malin,brain and taine were doing this sport.Brian earned our first gold and mailn did too. Bat And Ball was next. Mishu,Sharan,Morgan and Nicholas was our people.Sharan won a gold while Mishu won a silver. Bum Shuffling wasthe ast activity.Our teams were in a tough comitition with the other classes but we did very well.

MINI OLYMPICS!!

On Tuesday 14 of August the whole middle school did Mini Olympics. We practised events which we were going to perform in.  The events included shape box, hula hooping, skipping, bat and ball and finally the bum shuffling!!

The first event was shape box boys and our competitors were Kyle and Samuel both of them did well but unfortunately Kyle came fourth and Samuel came sixth but we still had hope and our hope came true because for the shape box girls Olivia got a bronze!!!

The second event was skipping which went well with room 30 when Jeffrey and Kyle came third (it was a lot of luck) but Ethan and Taine came a close fourth just not doing well enough to win a medal but both had great sportsmanship and gave there best effort.

On the 14 of august the middle school had a mini olympics in the hall for the real olympics.

 First we had time to practice then we would do them in class and choose the best people to compete in the olympics.

The first event was shape box and I came 3rd.

The second event was skipping and sam and hayley came third like me.

The third event was chopsticks and thats when you have to move 10 beans from 1 plate to the other but room 30 didnt get a placing.

Then it was time for hula hooping and there was a 3 way tie and a four way tie.

The fourth event was bat and ball and Sharan came 1st go Sharan wooo.

Finally the last event was bum shuffling thats when you shuffle 10 meters and make it a relay.

We enjoyed this so much that for a treat we will show you a photo.

Room 30's mini olympics!

On tuesday 15 August Room30 did our school olympic in the hall.our contry that we had to surport was CANADA!!!

We had to go after the sports bell rang to get ready for our middle school olympics.

First we did shape the shape box we came 3rd in the shape box by kyle and samuel.After that we did the chopsticks I  had to go up the I tried my best. the only thing you have to do is you have to put the beans into the bowl and if you drop 1 you have to put it back to the bowl that is in the left.Next we did hoops mail,brian and taine and brian they did there best to win.finally we did the bat and ball there was a boy who nearly put the ball down kyle and mishu tried not to put the ball down and they didn’t.the last thing we did was the bum shuffling our team came 2nd and we were so close to beat the other team.the school bell rang 10 minutes ago so we ran back to our class then packed up and went back home.

Point View Goes Olympic WILD!!!!!!!

On Tuesday the 14th of August 2012 the whole middle school had a mini olympics.  Everybody had to do 1 or 2 sports.  Peter did bumb shuffling, Peter and his team came 2nd and I did chopsticks and hulahoop ,in chopsticks I came 4th . In hulahoops I came 1st with 3 other people with me.  We made t-shirts with a maple leaf on the front with Canada through the middle of it .  The back of our t-shirts were just as beautiful as our front ,they had our last names and 30 at the bottom of our t-shirts.  After the time came ,we were all nervous at first but then we were confident.  We made a head band we got to choose what we had on them but we had to have black ,red or white on our head bands .   Some people put red glitter on their head bands.   We had a magnificent time .

Cube Making

On Monday 13 August Room 30 made cube nets then turned them into cubes. The challenge was to make a cube net,decorate it then cut it out to make a 6 faced cube,it had to be a 5 by 5cm cube. To make this you will need: - sissors - A4 paper - a 5 or more cm ruler - pencil - crayons - glue - some careful fingers step by step instrutions 1. Draw 6 squares the shape of a cube of a net. 2.Draw tabs which are connected to the squares but in the right place. 3.Decorate all the squares to whatever you like. 4.Cut the net after you've decorated. 5.Fold all the tabs and squares. 6.Glue all the tabs together. 7.Play with your cube and have fun!!

Buddy Class With Jaskaran My Buddy

Hi, this is my buddy Jaskaran and I am Alex.

Jaskaran is my buddy for buddy class.

In buddy class i read books to Jaskaran and sometimes we watch movies together.

I am  8 years old and my buddy is 5 years old.

He likes fishes and i like dinosaurs and dragons.

My buddy is blackish brown and i am brownish white.

I goto buddy class every friday.

Canada clothes

On Monday the 5th August we stared our canada clothes for the Olympics. First everyone needed to bring in a white t-shirt to school you needed to:

• have it named on your tag
• have your class number on your t-shirt

Next we cut out maple leafs and every letter in the alphabet.  Then we drew the maple leaf on the t-shirt

then we put newspaper inside our t-shirt. After that we trased the pencil lines with vivid. Then we trased the letters that spelt the word Canada.  

My Awesome trip to America !

Hi my names Taine and i am going to tell you about my trip to America.The people that were coming with me were my Grandma Granddad sister me my Auntie and uncle and lucky last my cousins Piper,Tyler and Alana.We went on monday 30th november 2011 and we packed on thursday 26th november 2011. We had to pack heaps of stuff lots of clothes my camrea toys games. That morning we woke up at 7:30 and we had to get ready because the bus was coming at 9:00 

9:00 AM 

The bus is here my mum yelled, sadly my mum wasn't coming.We quickly hurried into the bus when we were in the bus my sister said could you take a photo of my nails, and she asked that (because the day before my sister Kaitlyn and  Piper and Alana got there nails done) so I got my camera out and toke a photo.We got there in 30 minutes when got there we got out of the bus and the driver helpfully carried our bags in.

Wacky Hair Day

Today it was wacky hair day.Wacky hair day is about having wacky hats and hair. If you have the wackiest hair you get a certificate and might win a prize. There were children wearing hats wigs and put hair spray,gel and bows in their hair.

Today it was my turn to present my current events for oral language. My current events was about the fire at Xtreme Bowling

Our focus was to face the audience when we were speaking. I would give myself 9/10 for this.

Zoolympics

On Monday 6 August we went to the Auckland Zoo. First we got into groups and got a mini booklet that we had to fill in.The first thing we saw was the giraffe and the zebra. We measured ourselves and see how tall we are then we filled the sheet. We also went to the cave and saw some seals. Next we went to the mare cats.They were really cute. There were lots of apes like the spider monkey,orangutan, baboon and the chimpanzee. The were all really cheeky. At the end we finished the mini booklet and got a gold medal. The best animal we saw was the tiger.
We had a great time at the Auckland Zoo.We hope we can go there again.

NZ Gold

New Zealand Gold

On Thursday 2nd of August New Zealand won a gold medal!!!  They won the race for rowing.Their names are Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan isn't that great!!!!  Sullivan in the stroke seat flung his arms in the air and sank back into Cohen's lap.  Their win follows bronze medals for the equestrian eventing team and coxless pair Juliette Haigh and Rebecca Scown 24 hours earlier. It was nothing new them. They do a lot of their racing from behind.  They are New Zealand's seventh Olympic rowing gold medallists dating back to the coxed four at Mexico City in 1968.  Cohen and Sullivan are not noted for their fast start and it was the same for last night.  But what counted was that they did in the final 500 meters and more importantly getting to the line first.
