Black and White Day

Today, the 1st of November, is black and white day. Black and White day is when everyone wears black and white. This year we are supporting a Orca called Morgan. Today we dressed up in black and white to show our support for Morgan. We are supporting Morgan because she lost her Mother when she was stranded on a beach. This event was held by our  Orca mad teacher,Miss.Norton. Here is a picture of us in black and white and a picture of Morgan.

MINI OLYMPICS

MINI OLYMPICS

Hi today we are going to tell you about our middle school mini Olympics that we had on tuesday 14 August. We made some team T-shirts and on them, they had a maple leaf and the number 30 We also had our last names on it.It took us 2 weeks to make but it was worth it.

 We came to school very excited and ready for the competition.We rushed into the classroom that morning,everyone asked the teacher if we could wear our shirts.Later that afternoon we were playing and we saw some people in the class room and we went to get our T-shirts on.The teacher said we could put some tattoos on our arms,eventually all of our class came in to get ready. 

At the mini olympics we were chanting out C A N A D A

  and we went in after a few classes.So we went in and all classes got to pick a song so when they came in there song would play  our one was When we stand together.

The first activity was the shape - box ,the shape box is when you put some shapes into a box that has shape fittings

My Awesome trip to America !

Hi my names Taine and i am going to tell you about my trip to America.The people that were coming with me were my Grandma Granddad sister me my Auntie and uncle and lucky last my cousins Piper,Tyler and Alana.We went on monday 30th november 2011 and we packed on thursday 26th november 2011. We had to pack heaps of stuff lots of clothes my camrea toys games. That morning we woke up at 7:30 and we had to get ready because the bus was coming at 9:00 

9:00 AM 

The bus is here my mum yelled, sadly my mum wasn't coming.We quickly hurried into the bus when we were in the bus my sister said could you take a photo of my nails, and she asked that (because the day before my sister Kaitlyn and  Piper and Alana got there nails done) so I got my camera out and toke a photo.We got there in 30 minutes when got there we got out of the bus and the driver helpfully carried our bags in.

First we had to pick a county Taine picked United kingdom and I picked Ireland.next we had to get a medium piece of paper.Then we got some magazines and started riping i found a

Today it was my turn to  present my current events for oral language. My current events was about Prince william slams rhino poaching as 'Ignerent selfish and utterly wrong.

Our focus was to face the audience when we were speaking. I would give myself 8/10 for this.

I need to work on looking at the audience.

I think I did well at  not rushing my speach.

the worst camping trip ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi my name is Taine i am 8 and i am going to tell u about my camping trip to thames in 2012.I hope you like it :).Well the people that were coming  were my aunty and uncle my sister and cousins,me and my mum grandma and grandad. As you know we where going to Thames.The campsite was a while  down the road.We set out at 8:00 in the morning ,We went in my grandad's van my grandma said it was going to take 2 hours to get there.We were driving along a twisty twirly road for a second i thought i was going to spew :(.Later on i fell asleep  and woke at 1:00 i asked if we were there yet  then my mum said you have asked her about 1 thousand times Taine.well we finally got there the end, well thats what i want to say but the nightmare goes on.We stopped at a park just a while down the road from the campsite.Before we set out we got to pick some lollies, i got a whole bag of lollipops they were the chuck lollipops.well my mum said we could all have some so we went on the playground with our lollipops and my  cousin called Tyler bumped me and i dropped my lollipop and that is one of the worst things and then i asked for a new lollipop but my mum thought that i just wanted another lollipop that is the second  thing that happened  to me, 2 bad things so far but there's more we went to a cafe  and my cousins got a whole biscuit each excepet my little cousin Alana.But me and my sister had to share one.3 bad things. then we got back in the van and went to the campsite I  thought that it would be a little campsite but there were alot of sites we went to the reception and

Anzac Bickies

On Tuesday the 24 April 2012 room 30 made ANZAC biscuits. We made them in the school cafeteria. Some parents came in to help us bake them. The people that where in my group Peter Sharan Olivia  and Samuel & my grandma was the parent helper for my group. In another

group caleb  spilled the cocunut & me & Taine had to clean up for a while it felt like five hours...it felt tiering. The ANZAC   biscuits tasted very very good.

If you would like to make them we have the recipe 

this is what you need:

ingredients 

half a cup of champion standard grade flour.

half a cup of sugar.

three quarters of a cup of fleming's rolled oats.

75G butter 1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon golden syrup
2 teaspoons boiling water
1/2 teaspoon edmonds baking soda
mix together flour ,sugar, coconut and rolled oats.Melt and golden syrup

Jerome Kanio comes to pvs in westpack chopper

Today All Black Jerome Kanio came to point view school.All my friends said they wouldn't wash there hands ever again.  he plays as a blundside flanker so thats number 8 in front of Richie McCaw. This year he is going to japan. When the helicopter came down it took a couple of minutes.We had to sing cont on me by bruno mars.

On Monday 7th May Room 30 looked at Kandinsky's artwork.  We copied his artwork but his one was better of corse.  We mixed only 2 colours on each square.  So we started painting our artwork we had to be careful that the paint went on our sheet of paper.  We also did it on the on the 8th of May it took a lot of cosentration. We made really good work my be you can make them just as good with these steps.

you will need:

paint brush.

big piece of paper.

primary colours if you don't know them they are blue,yellow,red and black and white.

palets or ice cream lids.  We did cream colour out of yellow and white.

Step 1: Get you get your ice cream lid, you will need three.

Step 2: Put on the primary colours on one palet, and on another you will have to put black and white on the other.

Step 3: Then put two colours on the third ice cream lid.

Step 4: Then get any two colours you like and get one, and then on the other take only a smigit of the other. And do six of them and that is four easy steps.
